Empowering Northeast, Inspiring Hope.
Christian Literature House Society is an NGO dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities in Northeast India. Through programs focused on community development, sustainable livelihoods, and women’s empowerment, CLHS works to enhance the overall well-being of marginalized populations.
Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives
The Christian Literature House Society (CLHS), founded by Mr. Philemon Kamel, plays a crucial role in addressing pressing challenges facing Northeast India. Beyond their core focus on environmental conservation, including climate change mitigation through afforestation and sustainable agriculture, CLHS also actively engages in animal rescue and rehabilitation efforts. This includes rescuing animals from abusive situations, providing veterinary care, and rehabilitating them for release back into the wild or placement in suitable homes. Recognizing the interconnectedness of all these issues, CLHS champions women’s rights, advocates for gender equality, and empowers women. Furthermore, they address issues of human rights, social justice, and advocate for the rights of marginalized communities, ensuring access to safe and adequate housing for vulnerable populations. By focusing on these critical areas, CLHS contributes to the well-being of marginalized communities, promotes sustainable development, and fosters a more just and equitable society in Northeast India.
